Information

GARO
»»»A TV series by the same production group as the more children orientated Kamen Rider and Sentai tv shows, the series focuses on darker themes and horror elements. The heroes are a group of people who belong to the Makai Order, who are charged with the tracking and destroying demonic creatures called Horrors. Horrors are created through weaknesses in people and in reality, and tend to eat the souls of the humans they possess, although there are a few times where the person being consumed has such a strong personality and will that the Horror cannot fully gain control of the hosts. 'Garo' is the ultimate Knight of the Makai Order, someone who is a person so full of hope and strength that he (Knights are always men) is worthy of the title Garo, which means 'Hope' in their tongue.

Those people who live and work among the Makai Order keep themselves apart of the rest of the world, with some becoming Priests who wield impressive magics and craft magical tools to support the Knights in their duties. Their communities are small, isolated, and the people of Makai possess their own language and written word. Their numbers are few, and it is often not surprising for them to refer to other people as 'human' since they often keep themselves apart from the rest of the world. Sometimes they manage to find someone in the human world who possesses a strong spiritual strength, and these children are often brought into the Makai world before a Horror finds them or they lose their strength to modern society.

〈〈 GARO 〉〉 Goldstorm Shou
»»»The fifth season of the horror/action series GARO, it is the second one to focus on the adventures of Ryuuga, an orphan that had reclaimed the Garo armor from the darkness that coated its golden shine. This season deals more with the issues that Ryuuga hadn't really faced over the stuff that happened in Vol City while a new threat appears in the form of a pair of Horrors, and the legend of Ladan.

Character :: Jinga
»»»Jinga is first introduced as a mysterious man chasing, strangling and then tossing a person from the rooftop of a tall building. He and his partner Amily later find a sword hidden underground and surrounded by Maodu spells, which they freed from its prison by coercing an elderly Makai Priest to break the seals. When the sword splits into two daggers after the Priest did his thing, Jinga manages to grab one, while the other flings itself across the city and falls into the hands of Ryuuga after a battle with a weak Horror. This is where the season starts.

»»»Jinga is one of those rare Horrors that still managed to hold onto his personality from before, though he has become twisted from his inner darkness. Once a Makai Knight, he and his wife patrolled outside the borders of the Districts held by established Knights and Priests, protecting the tiny communities and traveling groups of Makai people from the wild Horrors in the dark areas. Tragedy hits him and his wife, and they both became Horrors as a result. They still possess the skills and powers of their former selves and have a lot of powers; as wandering Knight and Priest, they answered to the Senate instead of a Watchdog, so they already had a higher status then the average Knight and Priest.

Jinga became a Fallen Knight after a tragedy befell him and his wife during one of their jobs of protecting humans. This tragedy so shock the pair of them that they started slaughtering any and all humans they came across, and would have continued to do so until a traveling Priest came across them and attempted to take them out by basically suicide bombing them. Which really only managed to damage them to the point of slowing them down, really like I said, they are tough. In their weakened state, they became Horrors.

Horrors are demonic creatures and most are basically appetites on legs and wings. They eat humans and will continue eating them until a Knight kills them. They aren't smart and a lot of them have only a rudimentary understanding about humans as a whole. Jinga though is not like a lot of the other demons. For one, he retains all his skills as a Knight. For another, he possesses not only his human memories and personality, he also gains a Horror's knowledge and need for darkness. Thirdly - and the most important thing - he becomes a Horror-eater. In other words, he eats other demons which might not seem like a terrible thing but in actuality he uses the life energy of other Horrors to fuel his own abilities, which are a lot.

So on top of the physical and mental capabilities of a Knight, he also has:
+ demonic strength
+ enhanced senses
+ able to sense evil/darkness inside of a person
+ demonic form which often layers over his Knight Armor gif of his Horror form
+ flight/prehensile tail/claws while in demon form image of his demon form ignore that knight in the foreground
+ the ability to sense other demons
+ the ability to summon/control lesser demons
+ the ability to sense weaknesses in the barriers between the human world and the demon world
+ create minor points of Inga (basically places were evil can seep into the mortal world and letting in lesser demons)
+ protection against several forms of Light attacks (though later on in the series he loses this ability)
+ regeneration powers
+ poisonous blood that will kill a person after 120 days
+ the ability to possess other people (it will destroy his first body but that's okay because once he destroys the mind/spirit of the possessed, he reforms the new body into his)
+ control and use of the power sink/Horror castle Ladan (near end of the canon)

Teamed up with his wife/partner Amily, he is really not a simple push over, although he does enjoy to play a lot with anything that catches his interest. Or if he is in a good mood. Or he feels like it.
